Cynthia Cathcart

Workshops

Cynthia has prepared and presented many workshops on subjects relating to everything from an introduction to what a wire strung harp is, exactly, to advanced playing techniques. Subjects are often suggested by conference organizers or festival hosts to fit their theme and audience. There are perenial favorites (such as her Goal Setting and Gapped Scales presentations) to talks that were written specifically for a certain audience and given only once — such as a well–recieved talk and demonstration on the history and music of the so–called Queen Mary harp for a St. Andrew’s Society supper aimed towards letting the members there know that there is more to Scottish Music than the Great Highland Bagpipes!

Cynthia’s performance–based presentations can be found on the Performance page on this website. Other descriptions, especially those for players of the wire&#strung harp, can be reviewed by following the links below. These are workshops and classes that have already been written and presented previously: if you desire one on another aspect of the harp, please inquire.
